Renergi’s patented technologies extend far beyond our revolutionary grinding pyrolysis. Renergi has also developed a suite of other revolutionary technologies that, following the successful pilot scale demonstrations, are currently in the process of commercialisation. These projects include new innovations in Biorefinery Technology, Gasification Technology, and Biocarbon and Biocomposites Technology.

These technologies will utilise our biochar and bio-oil products produced from raw biomass or municipal solid waste feedstocks and extend their applications, value, and solutions to even further heights.

Sustainable, Green Substitutes for products/inputs relying on Fossil Fuels:

Renergi’s bio-oil from the pyrolysis of multiple biomass sources, in conjunction with Renergi’s Biorefinery technology utilising a novel hydrotreatment reactor configuration produce a bio-oil that is refined, renewable, and, most importantly, green. Renergi’s Gasification technology produces a sustainable and renewable source of gas. These products provide numerous sustainable alternatives for heating and energy options derived from fossil fuels:

  • Able to be utilised for electricity generation/peaking power,
  • Drop-in biofuels & chemicals
  • Miscible with petrol and diesel in any proportion or used as a fuel in its own right
  • Converted to other fuels such as hydrogen or used as a synthesis gas for the manufacture of chemicals
  • Used immediately for combustion on-site for combined heat and power production.

One of the major benefits is that these fossil fuel alternatives are produced as a coproduct of the pyrolysis of biomass into biochar so their production removes atmospheric CO2 AND avoids future greenhouse gas emissions by replacing fossil fuels.

 

High-Value Specialty Biocarbon Materials & Composites for Specialist Industrial & Mining Uses:
Renergi has demonstrated and patented a groundbreaking bio-composite technology for use in steelmaking. This technology is capable of sequestering 7Mt per year of CO2 emissions and a further avoidance of 9Mt per year of CO2 emissions by using 10Mt of biomass. This technology can revolutionise the steel industry as we know it, making genuinely green, sustainable steel.

Renergi is also developing several solid, high-value carbon (carbonaceous) materials for a wide range of applications, such as:

  • High quality Activated Carbon
  • A Metallurgical Coke Substitute
  • Energy Storage
  • Composite materials
