Renergi’s first Community Forum was successfully held at the Margaretta Wilson Centre in Collie at 6:30pm Thursday 22nd April 2021.The event was positive and well attended with a wide range of community members raising a variety of questions. We estimate there was around 20-25 attendees including the Shire CEO, a Shire Councillor and several other Shire staff.

After a brief introduction from Stuart Devenish (Shire CEO), Chun-Zhu Li (Renergi CEO) provided a 40minute detailed presentation of Renergi’s business, it’s technology and the Collie project. This was followed by approximately 60min of Q&A where all attendees were encouraged to voice queries and concerns.

The session allowed sufficient time to ask questions and discuss answers in an open and positive fashion. Once all attendees were satisfied Stuart Devenish called time on the formal component of the session. Renergi remained available for approximately another 30min and mingled with remaining attendees to continue to answer questions and discuss the project. Since the forum we have received considerable positive feedback including this email extract from a local Collie resident

“I thought the Community Forum was excellent.  I have heard no ‘rumblings’ since and everyone is extremely positive about the future.”

Further to this a favourable article was published in the Collie River Valley Bulletin outlining the benefits of the project and stating that attendee concerns were well addressed and allayed.
